Abstract
James Lowell and Co. Timber Associates has sold 17,000 acres of land around Attean Lake to Up North Timberlands for $4.5 million. The Attean parcel, which lies in Attean Township and Dennistown Plantation, was purchased by James Lowell and Co. in 1987 from the Coburn Land Trust for $2.7 million. Up North Timberlands, a partnership formed in 1996, is headed by Leroy Martin of Fort Kent, and is associated with Martin's Up North Corp. The Chewonki Foundation holds major conservation easements on the Attean lands. Details.
