Abstract
Huber Resources Corp. has proposed a $4.1 million wood chip mill in Millinocket, and has received permits from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection. The Coastal Waters Project of Lincolnville has appealed the permits, and the state Board of Environmental Protection will consider the matter on November 12. The Finance Authority of Maine has approved a bond issue by the town of Millinocket to finance the mill, which could process as much as 300,000 tons of hardwood annually. Coastal Waters claims the mill would require clear-cutting 10,000 acres annually. Details.
