Abstract

David Nivison, grand nephew of famed Gardiner poet Edwin Arlington Robinson, says that, although Robinson wrote about the town, his poems were never about specific individuals. Town lore holds that Robinson's evocative portraits, like "Richard Cory" and "Aunt Imogen," were about particular characters in Gardiner. Nivison will be among the attendees at this year's Robinson Poetry Festival in Gardiner.
