Abstract
Mike Hastings of the Maine Aquaculture Innovation Center in Brewer says there is a sizeable demand for yellow perchant in restaurants in the Midwest. Several people have contacted the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife for information on raising yellow perch, and the innovation center has approved a grant for a demonstration project in Clinton. Yellow perch are part of an emerging aquaculture industry in some northern states.
