Abstract

Maine Times staff writer Andrew Weegar recently spent ten days in Montana at an annual seminar for journalists on environmental issues. Weegar writes about how the western debate about land use and endangered species resembles and differs from similar discussions in Maine. The possible reintroduction of the grizzly bear in Montana, and what Maine does with Atlantic salmon, could shape the future of the federal Endangered Species Act.
