Abstract

A commission working on making changes to Maine's public school construction formula is preparing to deliver its recommendations to Gov. King on February 1. The state's school superintendents have been notified that the priority list for funding construction will soon be history. The biggest change in the rules will be that schools needing only to renovate their buildings will now be eligible for state aid. An overhaul of the current priority lists could take at least one year to complete.
