Abstract
Details on public hearings held by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, in early February in Washington, D.C. The EPA's plans to improve air quality in the Northeast are being challenged by industry in the Midwest. At stake is Maine's ability to respond to stricter EPA regulations. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection is currently working on a plan to bring the state into compliance with the federal Clean Air Act.
