Abstract

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court has ruled in favor of Guy Hart, owner of Tri-State Rubbish in Minot and Recyclables Unlimited in West Paris, in his suit against the city of Auburn and other municipalities over the right to pick up recyclables from businesses and resell them for a profit. Auburn had claimed that since the state mandates recycling goals for municipalities the muncipalities should receive the income from the sale of recyclable materials within their borders. Details.
