Abstract
An article on how libraries dispose of unwanted books, including a statement of the Portland Public Library's policy by director Sheldon Kaye. Recently the Lyman Community Library discarded two tractor-trailer trucks of outdated books they had purchased from Nasson College when it went out of business.
