Abstract
A proposal by Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt to remove or declassify gray wolves from the Endangered Species Act was clarified after the Maine group, Restore: the North Woods, issued a press release saying the move would threaten protection for wolves in Maine. A spokesman for the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Sevice said there would be no "blanket delisting" and that regions would be viewed individually.
