Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on the Maine Green Party, which has been propelled back into the ranks of official partydom by gubernatorial candidate Pat LaMarche, who received 7 percent of the statewide vote in the five-way race for governor, finishing fourth. The Greens also ran two candidates for the state legislature, Betsy Marsano and Ben Meiklejohn, both from Portland and though both lost, each captured more than 25 percent of their district vote. Party leader John Rensenbrink said he was very happy with the party's November showing.
