Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on seven Maine cultural organizations that are seeking $7.3 million from the Legislature to fund an initiative called "Maine Communities in the New Century: A Proposal for Statewide Cultural Revitalization." The funds would support libraries, museums, historical societies, theater companies and arts organizations and is backed by the Maine Arts Commission, Maine Historic Preservation Commission, Maine State Library, Maine State Museum, Maine Historical Society, MaineState Archives and Maine Humanities Council.
