Abstract

Ron Bailey, producer of the PBS national weekly series "TechnoPolitics," was in Portland last week at the invitation of the World Affairs Council to discuss his opinions on environmentalist doomsayers. Bailey presented evidence to show that predictions of global warming, worldwide famine and drastic levels of pollution made during the 1970s were scare tactics designed to create support for the anti-capitalist agenda of the environmental movement.
