Abstract
"News & Issues" piece on Camp Highland Cove, the first major new summer camp to be built in Maine in more than a decade, with a targeted opening date of 2001. The for-profit camp, to be located on 354 acres on Highland Lake in Bridgton, will feature Jewish religious services and space for 250 campers. Camp promoter, Mark Lipof, a Boston-area social worker, currently has the proposal before the planning board, and envisions an upscale Jewish clientele from around New England. Some neighbors fear disruption of the quiet cove.
