Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on a decision by officials of the Bureau of Parks and Lands to apply for U.S. Forest Legacy funds to protect about 35,000 acres in the Tumbledown Range and 656,000 acres along the West Branch of the Penobscot River. Both are key recreational areas and contain some of Maine's most ecologically valuable areas.
