Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on a vote by the state ethics commission last week to recommend legislation that would redefine what constitutes lobbying. Peter Webster, chairman of the commission, said the issue needs to be clarified. Lobbyists say there is no need for more legislation, but State representative Henry Joy, R-Crystal, disagreed saying the commission's decision is overdue. Joy said there should be much more extensive reporting on the amount of time spent lobbying.
