Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on a wolf or wolf-hybrid spotted on the Telos logging road west of Baxter State Park by Dave Hubley, who videotaped the large, white animal. The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (IF&W) has set out padded foothold and bear traps in the Telos gate area to try to capture the animal alive, according to IF&W media coordinator Mark Latti. Hubley and former Allagash Wilderness Waterway manager Tim Caverly were filming parts of the Allagash, which they believe is losing its wild character, when they spotted the animal.
