Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on the Hersey Retreat, a church summer camp in Stockton Springs that is being advertised for sale by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Bangor for $1.7 million. The church says the retreat, which is a nonprofit wing of the church, has been losing money for years and that it can no longer afford to keep it going. The retreat has been operated more or less continuously for 126 years as a summer camp, retreat center and orphanage.
