Abstract
"News & Issues" piece on two four-story dormitories the University of New England (UNE) wants to build near the banks of the Saco River in Biddeford. The Saco River Corridor Commission (SRCC) has rejected the proposal because the buildings exceed height limits. In response to the denial, UNE has filed a court appeal, and Mark Johnston, a former Saco mayor and a dissenting member of the SRCC, is reviving a proposal to legislatively remove the tidewater portion of the river from the SRCC's jurisdiction.
