Abstract

"News" piece on the Tumbledown/Mt. Blue Conservation Project. The Land for Maine's Future (LMF) Board has approved $500,000 for the purchase of 2,445 acres on Hedgehog Mountain. The tract, bordered on three sides by Mt. Blue State Park, will be added to the park itself. The project seeks to protect through fee acquisition and conservation easements a total of 32,000 acres with a potential price tag of $8 million. The LMF board also approved spending $278,506 for 470 acres for the Kennebunk Plains project, and $60,667 for 91 acres for the Greater Mt. Agamenticus Conservation Initiative.
