"Cover Story" piece on McCain's potato-processing plant in Easton, which company officials claim produces one in every three french fries consumed in the world today. McCain's worldwide sales in 1957 totaled $152,678. In 2000, that figures increased to over $6 billion. The factory, after an $80-million renovation last year, can produce 5 million french fry servings a day. McCain holds contracts with many fast-food chains and brands, including McDonald's.
