Abstract
"News" piece on Eric Taylor, who admits he was wrong to clear trees off his shorefront lot in Phippsburg, but thinks the town is a bully in how it prosecutes shoreland zoning violations. Taylor claims he cut 50 to 75 trees, but the town claims it was over 400. He could have resolved the matter a year ago by paying a $10,000 fine and planting trees under a consent agreement, but he refused. His stubbornness is costing him $250 a day in fines, or something like $98,000 and counting.
