Abstract

"News" piece on the GOP primary race. John Hathaway was considered by many to be the Republican Party's only true conservative. But Hathaway quit the race on March 15. With Hathaway out, neither of the two remaining contenders for the Republican nomination, Jim Libby and Peter Cianchette, is likely to get a high rating from the Maine Christian Civic League. Michael Heath, executive director of the league, said Hathaway was closest to the league's view on abortion and gay rights. With details of Hathaway's political rise and fall.
