Abstract
"News" piece on an ongoing dispute between Maine Democrats and Green Independent Party gubernatorial candidate Jonathan Carter. Democrats claim Carter's use of polling information in a campaign mailing last fall constitutes an illegal expenditure or a reporting violation that could disqualify him as a Clean Elections candidate. But Carter maintains the information was in his possession before he officially announced his candidacy. With a comparison to a similar inter-party fight in nearby Vermont.
