Abstract

Brownie Carson of the Natural Resources Council of Maine says the Maine Turnpike Authority is out of control. Carson says the MTA should be transferring more than the $4.7 million annual sum it has given the Maine Department of Transportation in eight of the last 14 years. Dan Paradee of the MTA says Carson is trying to deceive voters, and claims transferring more money to other roads is not an option. The referendum on widening the Maine Turnpike has turned into a referendum on the MTA. Details.
