Abstract

The National Marine Fisheries Service is giving lobstermen six months to devise a strategy aimed at reducing fishing in the Gulf of Maine. The NMFS has suspended most of the controversial Amendment 5 to the American Lobster Management Plan, which would have placed immediate limits on lobster landings.
