Abstract

A new feminism, referred to as Goddess spirituality, is taking hold in Maine. Subcommunities are being established within church assemblies, among private circles of friends and even on the Internet. Adherents study the new belief system in a quest for spiritual empowerment and healing. Goddess spirituality attracts women who are victims of sexual, physical and chemical abuse, and many of the women involved with Goddess spirituality are orignally from away. Details.
