Abstract

The Maine Sensible Transportation Policy Act, passed by a 3-to-2 margin at the polls in 1991, is being threatened by a bill co-sponsored by state senator Charles Begley, R-Waldoboro, who wants the act repealed. Planners with Greater Portland Council of Government and the Southern Maine Regional Planning Commission say they welcome citizen input from the Regional Transportation Advisory Committees, which were set up under the Act.
