    "The Empire Theatre, home of Portland's first 'talkies,' and remembered by older natives as the site of the Taylor Livery Stable and then as the Roll-Away Skating Rink was sold today by the Fannie L. Proctor estate to Ralph E. Snider of Maine Theatres Corporation."

    [The selling price was reported as "nearly $100,000."]
