Bottom photo: Dan Lentz sands down the rough edges on a newly repaired shoe sole, while his father Steve works in the background of Roy's Shoe Shop.
Roy's Shoe Shop first opened at a location on Stevens Avenue, near Brentwood Street, in 1923, owned by George Roy. In the 1940s, Roy and his son moved the shop to 500 Stevens Avenue, and Steve Lentz joined their work force later on. Lentz bought the shop in 1956.
