Left image: Full exterior view of newly-built church building, from southeast.

Right image: Inaugural service inside new church.
Photo published in the Portland Press Herald, on 11 June 1962.

The Saint Ansgar Church building on Woodford Street represented the merging of the Saint Angar parish, formerly at 10 Mayo Street (see photo of steeple at this link) in Bayside, and Immanuel Lutheran Church, formerly at 14 Sherman Street, in Parkside. Both parishes had been founded by immigrants to Portland from Norway, Denmark, and Sweden.
