    Description

Full exterior view of Carbur's Restaurant, 123 Middle Street, from west. Northeastern corner of Middle Street and Church Street visible at left. The popular restaurant began business in 1977, and continued through the 1980s and 1990s (closed in 1997).
The bottom image shows Carbur's famous sandwich menu board. When a customer ordered the enormous "Down East Feast" sandwich, the restaurant staff marched the tray out with loud fanfare and banging saucepans.

Photos published in the Evening Express, on 29 April 1977.
