Description
Views of David Rosen's Full Belly Deli, 930 Brighton Avenue.
The popular traditional Jewish delicatessen was owned and operated by the Rosen family (David, and parents Saralee and Jack). David Rosen learned the trade from George Bress- whose famous George's Delicatessen had been a downtown Portland mainstay from the 1930s through the 1970s. Bress helped Rosen start the Full Belly Deli, in 1987.
From 1987 to 1999, the Deli was at 930 Brighton Avenue.
In 1999, the Deli relocated to the Pine Tree Shopping Center, 1060 Brighton Avenue, where the business continued until 2015- when the shopping center was redeveloped.
From mid 2015 until 2017, the Deli continued as Rosen's Delicatessen, at 652 Main Street in Westbrook until 2017.
