The Woodfords Record had its editorial office at 844 Stevens Avenue, near Morrill's Corner (the building can be seen just below the center of this photograph. Walter Mattson was managing editor, and the newspaper was printed at Progressive Printing and Manifold Company, 69 Union Street, by Woodfords resident Irving Lourie.
Topics covered include neighborhood businesses, economic development, recipes, stories, and community institutions such as Deering High School, Children's Theatre, Temple Beth El, Trinity Episcopal Church, College of Our Lady of Mercy (later, Saint Joseph's College). Woodfords Congregational Church, and the Jane L. Burbank Branch of Portland Public Library (originally named the Woodfords Branch).
