Edward I. Johnston, 40, of Readfield, on Tuesday submitted his resignation as representative to the Northern Forest Lands Council, a position which he held for 8 1/2 years. Also on Tuesday, Johnston resigned as president of the Maine Forest Products Council, a 1,200-member trade group representing individuals in the forest products industry. Gov.
