Abstract

"City" piece on Ben "Zen Ben" Meiklejohn, singer-songwriter and Green Party activist, who is running for the Portland School Committee seat representing the city's East End and islands. Meiklejohn faces opposition from Otis Thompson, a retired educator from Peaks Island. Both men seek to replace Bill Barron, the incumbent committee member who is not seeking a second term.
