Abstract

"City" piece on a possible site for a dog park in Portland's Deering Oaks Park. A small group of Micmac tribe members is trying to convince Portland city officials there may be an ancient Indian mass-burial ground in Deering Oaks. With a list of alternate sites, and Micmac member Robert Norrell's campaign to establish a Native American memorial and history center at Deering Oaks.
