Abstract

"City" piece on Michael Rodriguez, the former program director of Youth Build, a project at Portland West, who was terminated effective June 28. According to Ethan Strimling, executive director of Portland West, Rodriguez' position was eliminated in order to "consolidate two programs": Youth Build, which teaches high-school dropouts to do construction work, and Building Alternatives, a similar program for kids on probation who need closer supervision.
