Abstract

"City" piece on a new gang in Portland that is etching its signature or "gang tag" on plate glass windows with a glasscutter. A total of 28 windows have been damaged. The cost of replacing the glass ranges from about $400 to $1,500 per window, according to James Sanders, owner of Reflections Window Cleaning Company in Portland, which does scratch removal in lieu of window replacement. The Portland Downtown District is now investigating graffiti ordinances that are stronger than those currently on the books.
