Abstract

"City" piece on the newly formed Downtown Young Adult and Business Task Force, a mix of Portland business owners, social service providers, Portland police, and youths who like to hang out in town. Under the group's plan of action, community police and outreach workers would help kids learn what resources are available to them, and the Preble Street Resource Center, Youth Alternatives and the Portland Police Department would focus on homeless youths and others with no place to go.
