Abstract

The Electric Hare, Falmouth High School's entry in the Tour de Sol, on May 26 finished 13th out of 22 electric vehicles in its class. The converted 1984 Volkswagen Rabbit traveled 84 miles on a single charge during one leg of the race. The Sunrise, built by Solectria of Massachusetts, took top honors and set a new Tour de Sol record for range by driving 238 miles on a single charge in mixed city-highway traffic.
