Abstract
Article on Fitch's General Store in East Sebago, which may be the last old-style country store left in Maine. A Fitch has operated the store on Sebago Lake since 1830, but Laurence Fitch and his wife, Vera, fear they will be the last in the family to run it. The store carries a little bit of everything, from groceries and gardening supplies to hardware and handicrafts. The store was recently named to the National Register of Historic Places.
