Abstract

"North by East" piece on five moose permits that were auctioned last spring for up to $8,000 each by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. The $35,629 raised will finance scholarships for more than 200 children to the Maine Conservation Camp at Bryant Pond. All of the bidding was done by mail, with bids from around the country.
