Abstract

"What's in a Picture?" piece featuring a photograph from a silent-screen era movie, showing actress Edna Mae Sperl holding a group of backwoodsmen at bay with a rifle as they were caught attempting to steal a box of dynamite. The picture is from one of about forty films shot in the Augusta area, only four of which Northeast Historic Films in Bucksport has been able to track down. The picture shown here is all that remains of this particular film, and even the film's title has been forgotten.
