    Abstract

"North by East" piece on an increase in moose-vehicle collisions since the widening of the southern stretch of the Maine Turnpike. Healthy moose were once rarely seen this far south, but recently they seem to have adapted. On one day in early June, there were four moose-car collisions between Biddeford and Cumberland. With details on how preventive measures do not act as much of a deterrence to moose.
