Abstract

An in-depth look at what lies beneath Sebago Lake, including fishing boats, tools of the ice-trade industry; the sailboat "Ellen," which vanished in 1828; remnants of canal boats and steamships; Noah Hooper's barn, covered when a dam raised water levels; a rescue airboat; at least one ATV three-wheeler and one four-by-four vehicle; two British F4U-1 Corsair Fighter Escorts; and plumbing fittings left over from a diving test in which students had to assemble lengths of pipe underwater. With details on flora and fauna in the lake; its geology; and the high quality of its drinking water, attributed to a long, narrow watershed.
