The story of the death of Julie Dimperio Holowach, who was killed by a great white shark while swimming near her summer home on Bailey island in July 2020. A detailed account of the attack and the emotional impact it had on witnesses, Holowach's family and friends, and the community at large is paired with a discussion of what is known about the history and current condition of shark activity off the Maine coast.
