Abstract
"Focus on the Bangor Region" piece on Paul Daigle, vice president of Autotronics, a Madawaska-based firm that distributes, services, and customizes emergency vehicles. When Calais-based McGovern Ambulance Service was indicted and had its assets frozen, he was able to deliver seven fully equipped ambulances to the newly formed Downeast EMS service within a nine-day deadline. A focus on customer satisfaction has boosted the firm's range throughout New England and into Canada. The company is moving the bulk of its operations to Bangor and, with the more central location, hopes to stay on top of a competitive market. Daigle started the company with his father Ferdinand. The company has grown quickly, but an increasing problem has become finding liability insurance, which is becoming ever more expensive.
