Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on the success of the Pine Tree Zone (PTZ) initiative over the last year. Jack Cashman, Maine's commissioner of economic and community development, noted that as of April 15, the PTZ program had helped create 1,817 new jobs in the state, with several hundred more expected. Cashman added that an effort is also underway to expand the program to include natural-resources based companies already in the state.
