Abstract

"Focus on Building & Real Estate" piece on the real estate "bubble" and affordability issues in the Cumberland County housing market. Low interest rates have driven demand, and rising real estate prices have followed that demand, but incomes have risen more slowly. Yet Portland is more stable than some overheated markets elsewhere. Pat Amidon of Amidon Appraisal thinks the market in Portland is in a cyclical upswing rather than an unhealthy rise.
